One of the realities one learns about in the wake of a natural disaster is the difficulty of communicating with those in the affected area. For a variety of reasons it’s difficult to make contact through normal means. Sometimes it’s even difficult to make personal contact.
Obviously we are concerned about people throughout the entire community, whether staff colleagues or not. But many staff at United Methodist Communications live in the areas affected by the Friday tornadoes. We’ve started a telephone calling tree to determine their status.
At this writing all have been accounted for. Some have sustained damage to homes but no injuries or deaths. Similarly, some are reporting that nearby family members have sustained damage, but no casualties.
We’re continuing to call and attempt otherwise to reach all our staff colleagues, praying for everyone affected in the entire community and grateful for the well-being of others.
