If you’re interested in high quality, fascinating images, the BBC has a section on its science page worth a visit. Visions of Science presents the top images from the Visions of Science Photography Competition, 2005. The first image of a grain of salt and a peppercorn is striking. An image of a cancer cell entering a pore is just remarkable. A tiny shrimp poised at the entrance of a fish’s mouth, where it performs a useful function–cleaning the fish’s teeth–may sound unpalatable, but as an image it’s quite an accomplishment. Enjoy.
