Mars Rover Opportunity pulled itself free on Saturday and is making tracks out
of the powder-like sand in the dunes on Mars.
Mars Rover Opportunity has been stuck in the sand for five weeks. At the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, scientists re-created the dune Opportunity got stuck in, and worked on exit strategies. They found the right combination and on Saturday, Opportunity pulled out of the sand and made tracks away from the dune.
